1. The Renter acknowledges receiving the vehicle in good operating
condition except for pre-existing damage documented by photographs,
video, or the pickup condition report.

2. RENTAL PERIOD

The vehicle may not be kept beyond the agreed return date and time
without the Owner’s prior approval.

​

3.RENTAL PAYMENT

TOTAL DUE BEFORE VEHICLE RELEASE.

4. SECURITY DEPOSIT

The Renter will provide a $150 refundable security deposit before
taking possession.
The Owner may deduct documented amounts owed under this Agreement,
including damage, an applicable cleaning fee, charging expenses,
tolls, parking or camera violations, lost/damaged Tesla equipment, and
excess mileage.
The $150 deposit does not limit the Renter’s financial responsibility.
Any unused portion will be returned within 7 days after return,
subject to reasonable inspection. Later-posted tolls, tickets,
charging expenses, or other amounts attributable to the rental remain
the Renter’s responsibility.

5. AUTHORIZED DRIVERS

Only the Renter and specifically approved additional drivers may
operate the vehicle.

Every driver must possess a valid United States state issued current driver’s license. No unauthorized
driver may operate the vehicle.

​

6. INSURANCE INFORMATION AND VERIFICATION

Before taking possession of the vehicle, the Renter and each
authorized driver must provide evidence of valid automobile insurance
acceptable to the Owner.

The Renter understands that automobile insurance policies may contain
exclusions or limitations concerning private paid vehicle rentals,
peer-to-peer rentals, commercial use, permissive use, or vehicles
supplied to another person for compensation.
Providing an insurance card or policy information does not by itself
establish that the insurance policy covers this rental.
Nothing in this Agreement represents or guarantees that the Owner's
insurance, the Renter's insurance, or an authorized driver's insurance
will provide coverage for this transaction.
The Renter agrees to promptly provide additional insurance information
reasonably necessary in connection with an accident, damage, theft, or
insurance claim involving the vehicle.
Insurance proceeds actually received for a covered loss will be
credited against amounts otherwise owed by the Renter for the same
loss to prevent double recovery.

7. TOLLS, PARKING AND VIOLATIONS

The Renter is responsible for tolls, electronic toll charges, parking
expenses, parking tickets, traffic citations, camera violations, and
towing/impound expenses resulting from the Renter’s actions.
These obligations remain after return of the vehicle and refund of the deposit.

8. EV CHARGING

The Renter is responsible for Tesla Supercharger charges, paid EV
charging, idle fees, and related charging expenses.
Charges billed to the Owner’s Tesla account must be reimbursed.
The Renter must not intentionally allow the battery to become
completely depleted and is responsible, to the extent permitted by
law, for reasonable towing/roadside expenses caused by such depletion.

Car EV rental must be returned with the exact percentage charge or higher.

9. AMAGE, LOSS AND RENTER RESPONSIBILITY

The Renter accepts responsibility for the care, custody, and control
of the vehicle from pickup until it is returned to and accepted by the
Owner.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Renter is
financially responsible for damage to, loss of, or theft of the
vehicle occurring while it is in the Renter’s possession or control,
except documented pre-existing damage and except where applicable law
provides otherwise.
This may include collision damage, dents/scratches, glass,
wheels/rims/tires, interior, underbody, parked damage, theft,
attempted theft, vandalism, misuse, lost Tesla keys/key cards or
accessories, and reasonable towing, recovery, storage, and repair
expenses for which the Renter is responsible.
The $150 security deposit does not limit liability.
The Renter must promptly notify the Owner of any accident, damage,
theft, attempted theft, or vandalism.
No repairs may be authorized without Owner approval except when
emergency action is reasonably necessary and the Owner cannot
reasonably be contacted.
Documented pre-existing damage is not the Renter’s responsibility.

10. VEHICLE CLEANILINESS

NO CLEANING FEE IS OWED IF THE VEHICLE IS RETURNED CLEAN.
The vehicle must be returned in substantially the same level of
cleanliness as received, allowing reasonable ordinary use.
A $100 cleaning fee applies only when the vehicle is returned
substantially less clean and requires cleaning beyond ordinary
post-rental cleaning.
Examples include excessive trash, spills, stains, excessive mud/sand,
pet contamination, smoking/vaping residue or odors, or other excessive
interior soiling.
Normal dust, minor exterior road dirt, and ordinary use alone do not
trigger the fee.

11. PROHIBITED USE

The Renter may not:
• Allow unauthorized drivers.
• Sub-rent or loan the vehicle.
• Race or speed-test the vehicle.
• Use it on a racetrack.
• Tow with the vehicle.
• Intentionally operate off-road.
• Use it for illegal activity.
• Drive while impaired.
• Smoke or vape inside.
• Disable or interfere with Tesla safety, security, GPS, telematics,
or monitoring systems.
• Factory-reset the vehicle.
• Remove the vehicle from the Owner’s Tesla account.
• Purchase Tesla upgrades/subscriptions.
• Modify the vehicle without permission.

12. TESLA ACCOUNT, LOCATION AND VEHICLE DATA

The Owner will retain normal access to the Tesla account and vehicle
information during the rental, including vehicle location, charging
information, mileage, battery status, and vehicle status.
The Renter acknowledges that Tesla vehicle systems may collect and
transmit vehicle information during normal operation.
The Renter may not disable, obstruct, manipulate, or otherwise
interfere with GPS, location information, telematics, connectivity,
security systems, or the Owner’s authorized Tesla account access.

13. SECURITY FEATURES
The Owner may use normal Tesla security features, including Sentry
Mode and PIN to Drive, during the rental.
The Renter may be provided a temporary PIN or other vehicle-access
credentials necessary to operate the vehicle.
The Renter may not change, disable, circumvent, disclose to
unauthorized persons, or interfere with vehicle security features
without the Owner’s permission.
Any temporary PIN, digital access, or other authorization supplied for
the rental remains the Owner’s property and may be changed or revoked.
after the rental ends.

14. ACCIDENT OR EMERGENCY
If an accident occurs, the Renter must stop as required by law,
contact police/emergency services when appropriate or required,
promptly notify the Owner, exchange information with involved parties,
document the scene when safe, obtain witness information when
reasonably possible, and cooperate with legitimate insurance claims.
The Renter may not admit legal liability on behalf of the Owner.

15. KEYS, KEY CARDS AND ACCESSORIES

The Renter is responsible for safeguarding these items and for
reasonable replacement/programming costs for items lost or damaged
during the rental.

​

16. FAILURE TO RETURN / UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION
The Renter must return the vehicle on the agreed date, time, and at
the agreed location.
Continued possession of the vehicle after the agreed return date and
time without the Owner’s authorization is unauthorized possession
under this Agreement.
The Renter may not:
• Conceal or intentionally hide the vehicle from the Owner.
• Intentionally provide false information concerning the vehicle’s location.
• Disable, obstruct, remove, or interfere with the vehicle’s GPS,
cellular connectivity, telematics, location reporting, or security
systems.
• Remove the vehicle from the Owner’s Tesla account.
• Factory-reset the vehicle.
• Prevent or attempt to prevent the Owner from accessing vehicle
information normally available through the Owner’s Tesla account.
• Transfer possession of the vehicle to an unauthorized person.
• Retain the vehicle after the Owner has demanded its return following
expiration or termination of the rental.
If the vehicle is not returned as agreed and the Owner reasonably
believes that it has been stolen, unlawfully retained, or otherwise
wrongfully withheld, the Owner may promptly report the circumstances
and vehicle location information to law enforcement and take other
lawful steps to locate and recover the vehicle.
The Renter agrees to cooperate with the Owner, law enforcement,
applicable insurers, and other appropriate authorities concerning
recovery of the vehicle.
The Renter remains responsible, to the fullest extent permitted by
applicable law, for amounts owed under this Agreement, including
applicable rental charges, damage, loss, towing, recovery, storage,
tolls, charging expenses, and other documented amounts for which the
Renter is responsible.
Nothing in this Agreement authorizes the Owner to take an action that
would create an unreasonable risk to the Renter, passengers, other
motorists, or the public.

17. LATE RETURN
Extensions require prior Owner approval.
Approved additional rental time is charged at $75 per additional
24-hour rental day, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
An approved extension is different from unauthorized possession under
Section 16.

​

18. PERSONAL PROPERTY
The Renter is responsible for removing personal belongings upon return.
The Owner is not responsible for property left inside except to the
extent required by applicable law.

​

19. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This Agreement, pickup/return condition report, and written
modifications agreed upon by both parties constitute the agreement
concerning this rental.

​

20. GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of
Virginia, except where applicable law requires
otherwise.
